Lullaby Lyrics ~ Hush Little Baby

If you saw yesterday's post you'll know that this week I'm sharing the lyrics to some of my favourite lullabies. 'Hush Little Baby' is my all time favourite lullaby. I remember both my mum and my dad singing this to me when I was little. It's just beautiful. Of course it makes no sense but there is something about this lullaby that I really, really love.

Hush, little baby, don't you cry.
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird

And if that mockingbird won't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring

And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass

And if that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat

And if that billy goat don't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull

And if that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's gonna buy you a dog named Rover

And if that dog named Rover won't bark
Mama's gonna buy you a horse and cart

And if that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town.
